"Two Years In Tucson” showcases paintings, collages and oil sketches by Joe Hatton completed since his return to the Old Pueblo from the Los Angeles area in 2005. In his beautifully expressionistic paintings Hatton layers transparent washes and built up areas thick with paint; the final product reminiscent of fantastical topographical maps. Jewel-toned and evocative these intuitive abstractions are profound meditations interpreting intangible aspects of emotions, experiences, and subjects.
